This Privacy Policy explains how StrokeX (the "Service") handles personal information and training data. StrokeX is a private, invite-only beta operated by an individual developer ("Operator"). Accounts are manually created for handpicked testers; there is no public sign-up.

1. What We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When the Operator creates your tester account, we collect:

Email address
Password or authentication credential (stored securely; the Operator cannot view your plaintext password)

1.2 Training Sensor Data (Training Mode)

If you choose to use "Training Mode," the Service may collect raw motion data from your StrokeX device such as:

Gyroscope data
Accelerometer data (including high-g/impact, if available)
Timestamps and basic session metadata (e.g., start/end)

Purpose: improving swing-analysis algorithms and debugging.

1.3 Device / App Information

Device identifier(s) (may be pseudonymous/anonymized where feasible)
Firmware version
App version

1.4 Usage and Diagnostic Data

Features used (high-level)
Crash reports / error logs (to diagnose issues)

2. How We Use Data

We use collected information to:

Operate the Service and provide access to the training portal
Improve and test algorithms (especially Training Mode data)
Debug, monitor reliability, and provide support
Communicate beta-related updates (e.g., changes, downtime, security notices)

3. Beta Nature of the Service

This Service is experimental. Data formats, retention, and features may change, and the Service may be modified or discontinued at any time. We try to protect your data, but no system is perfectly secure.

4. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information.

We may disclose information only:

Service providers: hosting/storage/analytics needed to run the Service (e.g., Google Firebase / Google Cloud or similar infrastructure providers)
Legal / safety reasons: if required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect rights/safety
Aggregated or de-identified insights: we may share non-identifying statistics (e.g., "average swing tempo ranges")

5. Storage and Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate for a private beta, such as:

Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
Access controls and least-privilege practices
Limited operator access

However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

Account data: retained while your account is active
Training data: retained as long as reasonably needed for beta testing and algorithm improvement, unless you request deletion
Deletion requests: we aim to process deletion requests within a reasonable timeframe, typically within 30 days

Important: If your training data has already been used to create de-identified datasets, analytics, or models, those derived artifacts may not be practically reversible to remove your contribution. We will still delete your account and identifiable data upon request.

7. Your Choices and Rights

7.1 Opt-in / Opt-out of Training Mode

Training Mode is optional. If you do not want to contribute training data, do not enable Training Mode (or use normal firmware/app mode if available).

7.2 Access / Export

If enabled in the portal, you may download your training data via the Training Portal. If not available, you can request an export by contacting us.

7.3 Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing: contact@strokex.golf

8. International Transfers

Your data may be processed and stored in the United States or other locations where service providers operate. By using the Service, you understand your data may be transferred internationally.

9. Children

The Service is not intended for children. You must be 18 or older to participate in this private beta. If you believe a minor has provided personal data, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

10. Cookies

The website/portal may use essential cookies required for:

Authentication (keeping you signed in)
Security

We do not use advertising cookies in this private beta.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will try to notify testers via email or within the app/portal.
